CBSE Exams time is like a mental marathon for every student that affects the body and mind. And, a lot of students indulge in unhealthy eating habits during exams, which not only result in weight gain but may also cause sluggishness. Therefore, it is important for students to follow a healthy diet plan in order to stay active and score well in exams.

Experts also suggest that maintaining a good eating schedule help children beat stress and anxiety during exams. With this view, Edignite shares some tips to keep children healthy and deal with hunger this exam season.

Diet Tips for students to avoid exam stress

Appearing for CBSE board exams 2020? Here is a  list of healthy eating tips that helps to avoid stress and do better in the examinations.

    1. Add Energy Boosters to your diet

Eat natural and energy-boosting foods like bananas, apples, almonds, flaxseeds, etc to focus more while preparing for the final exams. Also, eat high -protein food such as eggs, legumes, chicken, broccoli, etc which gives you the energy that stays for longer.

    2.Snack Often

Avoiding hunger can make things worse. It can cause gas and make you binge in your next meal that leads to weight gain. Instead, keep healthy snacks such as walnuts, pumpkin and sunflower seeds handy and eat whenever you feel hungry.

    3. Cutoff Caffeine Intake

It is easy to drink more coffee or tea while preparing for exams. But, studies have shown that excessive intake of coffee may leave you dehydrated and stressed that affects your concentration. Instead, drink green tea or any other caffeine-free herbal tea.

    4. Avoid Fried foods

Even in the short term of exam season, you should avoid eating fried foods to keep your brain healthy. Replace it with a diet high in folic acid and folate such as leafy green vegetables, cereals, and beans, etc that improve memory in exam time.

    5. Eat on time

Exam stress can make you skip meals. But, eat on time to avoid stress and weight gain during exams. Do not rush through meals and eat your last meal early in the evening. Following a proper diet schedule can make you feel refreshed and keeps your mind and body healthy.

Taking small breaks and sleeping well are also important for keeping stress away during Exams. Need more tips on preparation for CBSE exams 2020? Keep following Edignite.  All the best!
