    1. Don’t ignore notifications

The majority of government job aspirants ignore reading the complete exam notification. Never do this, you should read everything related to the exam you are preparing for, which includes exam syllabus, pattern, tentative exam dates, minimum qualifying marks, etc. Ignoring these details can result in framing a wrong strategy which will hamper your performance in the exam.

    2. Don’t compare your study plan

We get influenced by others so easily. Even if your friend is following a different strategy for exam preparation, you are not advised to change your strategy. As an aspirant, you should understand that each individual has different capabilities and skills. Therefore, frame a strategy as per your skills and follow it strictly.

    3. Don’t use the cramming technique

Due to the heavy competition, aspirants are advised to build their concepts. If your concepts are strong and clear you can answer any question based on that concept. But, if you use a cramming process then there are chances that you may get stuck on questions if there is a slight change in values or terms.

    4. Don’t depend on a single source of study material

Study material is the most important tool to get a good score. To crack a competitive exam, you need to have the right study material. Aspirants are advised to use only the best books and also not to rely on a single source of knowledge. You can also try to solve previous year’s papers to get a clear view of recent trends in the exam.

    5. Do get full details of the syllabus

Before starting your preparation for government exams, get all the information related to the exam you are preparing for. Read full details of the exam syllabus as it may vary from that of the last year. Understand exam pattern and weight-age of each section to prepare effectively.

    6. Do make notes

Develop the habit of making notes of everything you study. . Short notes prepared during exam preparation will help you at the time of revision. Make use of these short notes to read all important facts and formulas before the exam.

    7. Do practice online tests

Many exams are being conducted online so, it will be beneficial to practice online tests and get familiar with the online government exam format. Practicing online mock tests will increase your speed and accuracy in attempting questions, and also help to analyze your overall growth and improvement levels.

    8. Do focus on weaker points

You should focus on weak points as overcoming these areas is a time-consuming and most important task, to crack government exam. Start your preparation with weaker areas that carry maximum marks, in which you need more practice.
